Accountant Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare period-end journal entries and associated working papers in accounting software and provide necessary training.
- Support the reconciliation and analysis of the operations balance sheet, including WIP, AR, AP, and holdbacks.
- Offer technical support to HR Payroll operations, including issue resolution and tool maintenance, and provide training as required.
- Assist in preparing year-end audit working papers for external auditors.
- Deliver comprehensive financial updates to senior management through evaluation, analysis, and reporting of relevant data points.
- Develop, implement, and maintain financial controls and guidelines.
- Assist in preparing memos and presentations.
- Handle other ad hoc inquiries and tasks as they arise.
Accountant Qualifications and Requirements:
- At least 2 years of accounting experience (including supervisory experience preferred).
- A university degree in finance or accounting is required (no university major requirement for holders of a Canadian CPA designation).
- Professional accounting certifications (CPA, CMA, CGA, or CA) are preferred.
- Experience in operating SAP-FICO is preferred.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas services industry and payroll services is an asset.
- Strong attention to detail and adherence to deadlines.
- Strong English verbal and written communication skills, with Mandarin proficiency considered an asset.
- Strong analytical skills with intermediate proficiency in Excel.
